Paper Mache in a Big, Big Way
Size Diversity Activism, Paper Mâché, and a Guinness Record. You Know You Wanna Be Part of This!
What is this project about?
After hearing about Angela Meadows’ fantastic idea to destroy our old diet books as part of a Size Acceptance revolution, we wanted to join in – in a big way. We can donate our own books, but we can go farther than that – why not liberate diet books from local re-sale shops (local businesses make money, the diet companies don’t). And why not use the books to make a paper mâché sculpture? And not just any paper mâché sculpture, but a size-positive sculpture that breaks the Guiness World Record for paper mâché!
GOAL!!! We set a goal of 200,000 pages and thanks to everyone who donated books and money we blew it out of the water!

Participate in the Paper Mâché Days
Keep an eye on this page for build dates (tentatively set for the second, third, and fourth weekends in October) and you can attend a build day and paper mâché to your heart’s content.
Join the Size Diversity Task Force!
While you’re at it, consider joining the Size Diversity Task Force. An organization dedicated to Size Diversity Activism, Community, and Empowerment. The membership fee is name-your-own-price. We use membership fees to fund operations and projects like this, but we are more interested in your involvement than your money so pay what you can and join us – member supported, member run, and kicking ass. We have members around the world – you can attend meetings and participate in our projects in person or virtually. Join Now!

Just say the word when and where you want all those books sent..and we are ready to go. I want to make sure you have room to put them, Atkins was the scariest of diets and clearly the most published and discarded diet ever printed. Do you know that I have over 150 copies of just one of his titles and that is just in Paper Back. Prolific in a Bad Way!!!

Please take videos and save ( we forgot to yesterday of the practice build ) and post I’m so excited to see those books finally put to good use. Way, way, way too many.
Have you thought about using the magnetic strips from diet tapes (the Weigh Down Workshop comes to mind) as hair?
